Words can’t express how much I want to see this film. For those who don’t know, The Damned United is a film about legendary football manager Brian Clough’s time at Leeds United. It sounds simple enough but Clough was such a huge character that it surprised me that it took so long for a film about him to be made. Michael Sheen, who has already imitated Tony Blair (The Queen) and Sir David Frost (Frost/Nixon), plays Clough and it looks brilliant. The problem is that (aside from money to go and see the film in the first place) my usual cinema partner in crime, the girlfriend, has no interest in football whatsoever and doesn’t fancy it.
What would make her change her mind?
