I’ve been away for a bit but it isn’t because I’ve forgotten about the blog, more the fact that I’ve been insanely busy. Since last Tuesday I’ve been to a gig in London to see Placebo, spend the following day at uni trying to get all my work done desperately, spending four days in Brighton covering The Great Escape (I might blog about Brighton at a later date – it was a joy to be back down there after two years), see Deerhunter at the Scala and then see Metric at the Electric Ballroom last night. I also did my first ‘proper’band interview with Josh, the bassist of Metric. It helped that was a cool guy to speak to and it made interviewing him a real pleasure. There were two or three things I could have done better in hindsight but it was a solid first experience and I’ll definitely learn from it.
I was meant to be going to Thorpe Park today but my back has been feeling strained the last couple of days so I’m relaxing at home to ensure it gets better. Tomorrow I will try and get back to work – I have the Manic Streets Preachers album to review (I’m looking forward to listening to it as I find the backstory behind it really fascinating) as well as three gig reviews to do at least.
More frighteningly, I turn 21 this time next week. Is it odd that I don’t treat 21 as a special birthday?
