I think the above picture sums up the fallout to the tragic death of Michael Jackson pretty well. Among a trip to HMV in London I had a browse around as usual when I’m in stores that sell music and found the slot where his CDs would usually be. To no surprise of me or Aino, there was nothing. When I paid for my items at the checkout I asked the person there how long it had taken the CDs to sell out when they opened on Friday and she said that it was merely a few hours, since they had a lot of CDs anyway in stock. A lot has been asked of the way in which people want to remember him and things like this prove that the answer is pretty simple – the music.
Other than the trip to HMV, me and Aino just spent the afternoon roaming around the shops of central London before making our way back home. Whilst we were on the train I was subjected to a wonderful display of thunder and lightning that was hitting the East of the capital. God bless summer.
